23 / June / 2009 | First Students selected for the new East Midlands CAT
16 outstanding young people have now been identified as the first students for Dance4's CAT programme.
The students were selected through a process of an initial application, followed by a rigorous two-stage audition process in front of a selection panel that included Dance4 director Paul Russ and Gill Clarke, Arts Consultant and lecturer.
"We were so delighted with the standard of applicants that came to the auditions, and whilst it made selection a real challenge, we feel the first students for this East Midlands CAT are of an extremely high calibre" said course leader Alison Lord.
The CAT team are developing the details of the curriculum for the first year students which will include the opportunity to work with some of the UK's most respected dance artists. The first years training will be delivered in partnership with venues Djanogly City Academy and Lakeside Arts Centre.
